New Year, New Goals, New Blog!

Seeing as today is New Years, Chris and I decided to make some New Year's resolutions. Among these resolutions was to have Family Home Evening every Monday night. This is something we want to continue throughout our lives and become a tradition with our children (since we don't want to be taking them on date night, this is something we can do as a family every week). This is an idea we got from church but we are working to make our own. :  )

Family Home Evening includes:
Prayer
Singing Time
Lesson to bring us closer to Christ
Game Time (or an activity, like going to the movies)
AND
Treat

To help spread the responsibility I made a chart! : )

I'm actually pretty proud of it! The people move places. As our family grows we will replace one of our people with the new family member.

And today was our first FHE (Family Home Evening)!

We had a lesson on working towards the same goals in our marriage and family. We came up with our family mission statement that you see on the right.
Chris also taught me how to play a couple dice games. They were really fun! If you would like to learn dice games here are the two we played:

Our treats were rice crispy treats though if you ask Chris he might tell you it was Yakiniku because that is what we had for dinner and it was a treat for him to feel like he was back in Japan. : )

This blog is one of my new year's resolutions because I am terrible with journaling and maybe I will be better blogging. I hope I don't kill anyone who reads this with my poor grammar, bad spelling and terrible English all around. : )
