We bought a handheld mirror yesterday. This is Nathaniel's first experience with it.

Remove the Stent
Here is the last picture of Nathaniel with his stent. We will NOT miss it. For the past three and a half weeks we have had to irrigate his nose by shooting saline up it with a syringe 3-5 times a day. Every time we did this he would scream and was very hard to console. Towards the end I couldn't do it by myself because he would fight me so much. Chris had to hold his arms and legs while I held his head and shot the syringe. Even doing this he still got pretty stuffed up. I was afraid he wouldn't be able to breathe while he slept or ate. But we all made it through!
Of course his favorite thing at the doctors office was the paper. He actually ripped it, so we pulled a piece off for him from where he ripped.
When the doctor came and cut out the stent Nathaniel screamed for a good 5 minutes because his nose was raw but after that he was great. He had fun running through the halls on Chris' shoulder.
Here is a picture of Nathaniel and Chris in front of the hospital. It is a little small so we could get the hospital in and not have them standing in the road.

Catch up, the past few weeks
Here is a picture of Nathaniel having fun with his Pooh Bear. True to the fact that he loves food, he also loves sitting in his high chair. Maybe it is because there is a possibility of food.
Nathaniel being hipster with his dress-up glasses.
We played this game called Civilization with our friends. The board was the biggest board I have ever seen. It wouldn't fit on our table. We had to play on the floor and it took us 4 hours to get through the first era, there are 4 eras in to the game. We had to stop at the first era though because Chris had to be up in the morning. Someday we'll play a whole game.
Nathaniel got a new toy this week. He absolutely loves it!
We also went to the pool again. Nathaniel had a good time. He tried to swim by himself a couple times. Kept launching himself off Daddy's lap.
Everyone was tuckered out by the end, but it was a beautiful hot day. Perfect for the outdoor pool.
Nathaniel thinks this is his bed. He will sleep for hours here but only 20 min at a time in his crib.
Just a great picture!

Banana Exploration
I sat Nathaniel down and mushed some banana his tray. This is after about a minute of exploring already.
And here he is 10 min later. He only looked up at me every couple of minutes.
And he kept playing after this for about 5 more minutes.
Once he figured out how to pick up the banana he kept picking up little bits and putting it on his thigh. He never put it in his mouth. Just sneaked it under the tray and onto his thigh. He was definitely ready for a shower after he finished.
Random Videos since the surgery
Here are some random videos that we have taken since the surgery. They are probably only interesting to me and grandparents because they aren't of him doing anything necessarily exciting but I like them.

Life Post Surgery and Fantasy Con
Nathaniel got a bruise from hitting his face on the floor. If you didn't see the story on facebook, here it is:
Setting the scene: Nathaniel is 15 min from nap time so he's at the stage where everything is infinitely worse, also due for his pain meds in 15 min so they are wearing off. So what does he do...
Bangs his nose on the ground right as I'm about to pick him up to go read a nap time story. Of course this really hurts his nose so he starts to scream. I pick him up to comfort him. He immediately buries his face in my chest. Slamming his nose against my sternum. Louder pained crying ensues. I think I'm getting smart by moving him to my shoulder so he can't bang his nose. He immediately dives open mouth screaming into my shoulder, hitting his upper lip full force. Biggest scream yet. He is now unconsolable. I take him to the rocker to try and console him. Nope he manages to bang his head twice on the wooden front of the armrests, not the cushioned part. I gave him pain meds but it still took him 30 min to calm down and another 20 to fall asleep. I can only imagine how much my poor little boy was hurting. But he's happy and playing now. What a little trooper!

This week we also had our air conditioning fixed. Nathaniel loved watching the repair man work. So many new noises and lots of banging! Also lots of really cool tools.
Mommy did not like it though. It got up to 96 degrees even with all the doors and windows open and fans going. We had to stay there with the repair man from noon to 6 when we went to get Chris. A little later the repair man had stuff to do on the roof so we escaped to Chili's because Mommy couldn't handle being in the heat any longer and she didn't want to use the oven and make it even hotter.
At Chili's we weren't letting Nathaniel put any of his toys in his mouth, so we turned away for one second. When we looked back he was chewing on the table.
This week we went to Fantasy Con. It was a blast! Mommy was Eowyn and Nathaniel was a hobbit. Although half way through his vest came open and with his stitches he looked considerably more like a pirate.
Chris wanted to dress as a Nazgul but Mommy forgot that the 4th of July everything would be closed so when she went to get stuff to make the costume she couldn't. If Daddy couldn't be a Nazgul he didn't want to have a cobbled costume so he chose to be nothing. Next year though he is going to have an awesome costume! We'll start work on it now.
We saw a bunch of live birds. Nathaniel thought they were pretty cool. Mommy really liked the owl. It was SO big!
We got a picture with Jabba the Hut
Nathaniel got to meet the Ewoks.
Chris spent much of Fantasy Con looking for things to shoot Nathaniel from. (Pretend of course) Nathaniel was a great sport!
I just love his face in this one
Chris was so excited to feed Nathaniel Elevensies! Nathaniel even got his picture taken by the Fantasy Con Photographer while playing with the food. We'll have to watch the website to see if it gets posted.
It's a Dwarfish mine!
We watched a Marionette show. Nathaniel loved it. I couldn't get a picture of him and the Marionette guy in the same shot because I was standing too close and it was pretty crowded but here are two pictures.
Chris knows what he wants to get to make an awesome costume. It is definitely a future investment but doesn't he look so good. : )

Family Picture!
We really had a great time at fantasy con! Nathaniel was loved by everyone and made so many new friends. We saw so many cool things that Mommy didn't get pictures of because she was enjoying them, like fire breathers, sword fighters, forgers, bobbin weavers and so much more! We also made out with some good loot. Chris got a book, Mommy got two tickets to the Witches Ball (on discount takes place in October) guess who has to take her, and we got a family coat of arms along with the history behind it.
